It started when I was six years old.
I was a wee lad when I started taking piano lessons from Susan Ogilvy in a north Texas college town. I didn’t stop taking lessons until I was 18. Then I played keys in noisy rock bands, then became a techno journalist, then a house DJ, then an electronic solo act, played in Moscow, Sao Paulo, Milan, Berlin and Brooklyn, put out club records, ran an underground record label, threw psychedelic parties, and wound up supervising music for clients like H&M, Bloomingdale’s, and Away. I still prefer my records at -8, the feel of real piano keys, and listening to Stevie every day.
